- I have ten years of teaching experience at the 2nd, 5th, and 6th grade levels. Language arts is by far my favorite subject to teach, and I just finished my Masters in Reading from UVA. I believe strongly in arts integration and have watched it level the classroom playing field for second language students and those with special needs. I've been lucky to be involved in the Kennedy Center's CETA program (Changing Education Through the Arts), and have learned a tremendous amount about teaching through the arts. As seriously as I take my job, I've also learned that you have to find the humor in it, because the clientele you work with is rarely serious. I've also learned that there's always room for improvement and sharing is a necessity for survival.
